Senior Director of Operations

Bel Air Church seeks a Senior Director of Operations (SDO) who will work closely with the Executive Director to provide leadership, organization, and support for all operational aspects of the organization and church community. Must possess the ability to mentor and develop direct reports, create and develop operational strategies, and steward the resources entrusted to Bel Air Church. The SDO must also excel at improving systems, logistics management, problem-solving, and have a proven track record of successfully leading results-oriented teams. The Senior Director of Operations must have a passion for stewardship of the Bel Air Church campus, hospitality, large event coordination, and a “street to seat” view of visitor engagement. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Duties include:

  • Under the direction of the Executive Director, provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of the organization. This includes implementing the Senior Pastor’s vision while championing the values of the organization.
  • Oversight of department staff as appropriate to the position, and revised in light of ongoing strategic development of the organization and staff of the church and preschool.
  • Oversight of Operations budget process including developing fiscally sound related department budgets (facilities, café/catering, information technology, large events) in alignment with Bel Air mission, vision and values as strategically appropriate. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field required
  • Minimum of three years experience in business operations and/or organizational management required

Director of High School Ministry

Reporting to the Senior Director of Children and Youth, the Director of HSM will provide leadership and oversight to the High School Ministry. The HSM director will help develop a high school ministry that is an age-contextualized expression of the mission, vision, values and culture of Bel Air Church. The HSM Director will lead the ongoing development of vision and strategic planning in the high school ministry, and will recruit, train and nurture a growing base of volunteer leaders for that ministry area.

Preschool Director

Bel Air Preschool is seeking a Preschool Director to provide senior leadership to its Preschool and Infant/Toddler programs, which serve 130 families. Responsibilities include the administration of programs in compliance with national and state licensing requirements and in accordance with NAEYC accreditation standards; leadership and development of Preschool staff and committee volunteers; financial and development responsibilities including budget oversight, maintaining/growing enrollment, fundraising management; stewardship of the overall vision and mission of Bel Air Preschool.

Applicants must have...

  • At least a baccalaureate degree. [AND]
  • Have at least 9 credit-bearing hours of specialized college-level course work in administration, leadership, and management (which can be in school administration, business management, communication, technology, early childhood management or administration, or some combination of these areas.) [AND]
  • Have at least 24 credit-bearing hours of specialized college-level course work in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education that encompasses child development and children’s learning from birth through kindergarten; family and community relationships; the practices of observing, documenting, and assessing young children; teaching and learning processes; and professional practices and development.

Under the direction of the Lead Teacher, the Associate Teacher or Co Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, creative, respectful and developmentally appropriate learning environment and experience for children and families. Finance Coordinator

Bel Air Church seeks a Finance Coordinator (FC) who will work closely with the Finance Director in the maintenance, organization, planning and coordinating for all financial aspects of the organization and church community. Must possess the ability to mentor and educate indirect reports regarding financial issues, assist in the creation and development of financial strategies, and steward the resources entrusted to Bel Air Church. The FC must also excel at quickly adapting in a fast paced environment, at building effective working relationships, have experience in process improvement, and have a proven track record of successfully developing strategies that assist in accomplishing the financial objectives of the Church. The Financial Coordinator must have a passion for stewardship of the Bel Air Church vision and resources. This position reports to the Finance Director.

Duties include:

  • Under the direction of the Finance Director, provide oversight of the daily, monthly and year-end reporting requirements of the Finance Department.
  • Review and prepare general ledger journal entries by maintaining files and records, and reconciling accounts.
  • Provide support in budget preparation and drafting of relevant documents, perform miscellaneous filing, ad hoc reconciliation, etc.
  • Working with the Human Resources Director, responsible for bi-weekly processing of payroll, manual payroll checks, and maintaining employee payroll records.

Social Media & Web Coordinator

The Coordinator of Web & Social Media (CWSM) is responsible for various aspects of creative design work in publications, media, promotional, and advertising collateral for Bel Air Church. The CWSM will be actively involved in the development and production of these materials primarily through print and web graphic design. The CWSM will work with all departments within Bel Air Church. This position requires solid understanding of, and continued education on, website design, construction, maintenance, HTML, CSS, FTP, social media, and all Adobe graphic design programs. It also requires a creative eye in adherence to Communications Department guidelines and graphic standards. In addition to having excellent creativity, the ideal candidate will be a strong multi-tasker, have the ability to manage their workflow efficiently, and be able to work as a member of a team.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain graphic presentation of new pages, sites
  • Work closely with Snr. Dir. of Communications and other departments to develop new site layouts and concepts
  • Maintain all of our websites - both information and functionality
  • Produce the weekly eNews (electronic newsletter) and special event eBlasts
  • Coordinate audio and video archive/streaming, shopping carts, blogs, and more for our sites
  • HTML, CSS, Mobile, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram expertise

The Global Outreach Department is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Global Outreach Director. This position will be responsible for coordinating logistical aspects of meetings and ministry events; maintaining departmental calendar, communication requests, and handling telephone and email inquiries. Previous administrative experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher) required. Ministry experience preferred. Candidate must be detail oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment; possess a positive and grace-filled attitude. Some responsibilities include:

  • Work under the Director to manage social media accounts.
  • Create, update, and monitor event registrations and group emails.
  • Responsible for income/revenue spreadsheets for paid registrations. Follow up with registrants based off agreed upon payment schedules.
  • Organize food and spaces for meetings, events, and retreats.
  • Help organize the creation of promotional and training materials in partnership with the Communications Department.
  • Alongside the Coordinator, help organize the creation and printing of mission trip materials for teams.
  • Do background research (i.e. locations, prices, etc.) and provide administrative support for proposed department initiatives under the Director.
  • Work under the Director to continually refine department processes with an eye towards increased organization.
  • Work with communications department and on ProPresenter to create weekly slides for Young Adult Ministry.

Barista / Kitchen Assistant

Hospitality at Bel Air is oriented toward community, and we believe coffee and food are ways to connect to the Gospel. We are seeking a key team member who is eager to dive into a variety of tasks, from making drinks in the cafe to working in the kitchen to prepare food. This position will entail about 20 hours per week, shared between the cafe and kitchen.

Requirements:

  • Excellent people, communication, and customer-service skills. Warm, inviting personality is a huge plus.
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Driven to work hard towards excellence
  • Comfortable working on a team, taking direction, learning from mistakes
  • A love and passion for great coffee and high-quality food
  • Experience in quality coffee is a plus, but certainly not necessary. An eagerness to learn what excellent coffee and food tastes, smells, and looks like is far more important.
  • Technical aptitude and/or willingness to learn equipment details
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Basic iPad, math, and cash handling skills
  • Must be available on Sundays. Flexible schedule is a plus.
